Current Topics in Auctioneering Ethics, Contracts & Escrow/Trust Accounts

This course will address a variety of current topics related to our professional conduct as auctioneers. Topics stem from our observations, recent surveys, and interviews with the bidding/buying public and with sellers who use auction marketing services. We will focus on various aspects of the conduct of auctions, such as bidding conduct, misrepresentations, reopening bidding, absolute auctions, withdrawal of property, legal requirements, and the conduct of ring personnel. Effective contracts and handling money on behalf of our sellers and consignors will also be discussed.
