Federal Laws Governing Auctioneers: A Focus on Labor, Sales & Firearms

We will review key federal statutes and regulations that affect how auctioneers do business in today’s market environment. Emphasis will be placed on laws relating to managing sales and managing our workforce. More specifically, we will discuss employment and labor laws for auction businesses of all sizes, hiring employees versus independent contractors, and specific concerns relating to the hiring of family members. The Uniform Commercial Code (Sales) and federal firearms regulations will also be discussed. Participants will also be given the resources needed to access additional information on these important topics as well as various compliance tools for their auction business.
